Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to help you end your Developmental Vacation™ by developing positive coping skills. To learn those skills you will work on six phases, or chapters, that are based on the six parts of the Medicine Wheel. The phases include:
- East: The Visionary
- West: The Warrior
- North: The Leader
- South: The Healer
- The Sky: The Creator
- The Earth: The Protector
Each direction has a set of mental, physical and social/emotional assignments that you will be required to complete before you can pass off a particular phase. The work will include reading assignments, writing in your journal, and learning and demonstrating certain wilderness survival skills.
You will learn positive coping skills by:
- Focusing on the present
- Learning the process of change
- Understanding ego states
- Understanding the effect of thought on circumstance
- Developing an appreciation for nature, life, and family
- Learning how to heal relationships
- Acknowledging and facing your fears
- Understanding how to determine the direction of your own life
You work at your own pace as you learn to look at the world and relationships through new eyes.
